Auction terms.

Using this auction service

You must be at least 18 to register and bid. Keep your account details accurate and your password secure. Sellers must own their items or have permission to sell them and must accurately describe their condition.

Bids and closing

All prices are in EUR. A maximum bid authorises binding bids placed on your behalf up to that amount, plus the disclosed buyer’s premium and tax on that premium. Check the maximum total, condition and collection arrangements before confirming. A new maximum must meet the displayed minimum and cannot duplicate another bidder’s current maximum. You can increase your limit but cannot reduce it. Sellers and administrators cannot bid on managed items. A bid within two minutes of closing adds two minutes to the current closing time.

How maximum bids work

With a reserve, your first maximum raises the public price to your limit or the reserve plus one increment, whichever is lower. Without a reserve, it starts at the opening price. Competing maximums can raise the price, which never exceeds the leading bidder’s limit. You can increase your maximum while leading; you cannot lower it. The final invoice uses the closing public price plus fees.

Winning and reserves

The highest bidder wins when the item closes, provided its reserve has been met. If the reserve is not met, the item is unsold and no payment is due. A winning invoice is available in your account after the auction closes.

Payment and collection

Card payments are handled through Stripe. Payment must be confirmed before collection. Choose a collection time within the sale’s advertised window, bring appropriate transport, and arrange assistance for heavy items. Contact the auction team promptly if you need help with a winning item or its collection.
